I wanted to send the poor lappy for repair today, but the newly-installed RAM had been lingering in my mind as a potential source of problem.
So I decided to take drastic measure last Friday. Rather than immediately sending the lappy for repair and trying to survive the week without it... (I mean I can live without it da, but my academic life will be a big hassle) I decided to go over to SoC technical services and borrow a screwdriver. I removed, with the assistance of one SoC technical service guy, the suspect RAM, and as I am typing this, my PC has started without fail ever since. XD Hopefully this means no more problem with my PC.
I got my lappy a new piece of 1GB RAM (a working one) yesterday, and now the lappy is back at its full-operation condition.
